Hurricane Leslie North Atlantic Evolution 10-17 Sept 2012

Hurricane Leslie North Atlantic Evolution 10-17 Sept 2012
Tropical Storm Leslie is accelerating towards Newfoundland. The forward motion will combine with the rotating wind to cause the wind on the eastern flank to exceed hurricane strength prior to landfall. After crossing Newfoundland it will cross the Atlantic as a powerful extra-tropical storm. Leslie is already generating a wide area of ocean swells leading to good surf conditions from the Bahamas and Florida right up the East Coast of the US and Canada. The powerful remnants of Leslie will deliver gales and large swells to Ireland and Scotland on Thursday and Norway on Friday.
